About Mayra

I'm Mayra Rae, an experimental photographer and mixed media artist based in the Pacific Northwest. My work touches upon identity and nostalgia - exploring memory, softness, and the ordinary made romantic.

A tinkerer at heart, I move freely across mediums, always circling back to film photography and its long history of hands-on experimentation. What draws me into photography is its malleability, both physical and digital, building texture and story frame by frame in dreamy, psychedelic ways.

That eye for image and story started with a BFA in Fine Arts from New York University, and has carried into 7+ years working as a Social Media Manager, Creative Director, and Copywriter. That work keeps sharpening the same instincts I bring back to my art.
